More Superfrock news from IFDC 2011

Further news snippets from the Superfrock creator Desmond at this years IFDC in Las Vegas:

  1. The next doll in the Hells Belles line will be another Marl B exclusive called GOTHICA. You can see her in a full-page ad in the new edition of FDQ magazine.
  2. The new line of dolls set for release sometime towards the end of the year and is called Glamour. Not much info on these gals as yet but from the name I must say I am rather excited :)

Superfrock speaks from the International Fashion Doll Convention…

The Las Vegas Sign.

Viva Las Vegas!

The 9th International Fashion Doll Convention (IFDC) in Las Vegas is well under way and there are several news snippets winging their way across the pond from the Superfrock camp, who are making their debut at the convention. Desmond Lingard, one half of the creative duo behind the Sybarite dolls has spoken about upcoming plans for both the doll line as well as their recently announced Superfrock Convention.

Apparently there have been some alterations to the planned additions to the Colourvision line due to manufacturing difficulties on a couple of the dolls. Therefore Tangi who appeared in the Haute Doll section of the June/July Doll Reader magazine and the Voltaire sculpt doll, who was hotly anticipated, will not now be produced. We will still get Apple, the Inque sculpt featured in the same Haute Doll feature, as well as a bathing suited Pollen. Voltaire may make an appearance at some point in the year in a revised outfit.

The convention currently being planned will take place Friday to Sunday, October 21-23rd 2011. Venues for each day will be different and there will be a Doll A Day! Sounds exciting and I look forward to finding out more!

The Geometry of Colourvision…

The Superfrock Superdoll site saw the release of Geometry, the second gal in the Colourvision series. The site also saw the addition of a brand new frock made just for her entitled PICNIC MAGNET. As usual these works of fashion doll art may not be around very long. However at £458 plus VAT this particular Doll Observer is happy to see what comes along next! Here is the blurb:

“Like a Goddess… no excuses!
Bright magenta hose, and multicolour corset embroidered in harlequin grid metal components and yellow grosgrain flatbow, feather photographic print strapless glamour chaps with heavily embroidered hemlines interdispersed with transparent gauze, custom print reverse satin square slink skirt slashed up the front. Metal accent magenta closed toe sling back shoes and crimped wig of electric magenta and lime in a simple centre part flowing to below her waist!
‘ponygirl’ headpiece of steel with electric blue plume..”

Say hello to Superdoll’s Doku!

Today Superdoll released the first instalment of the Colourvision collection named Doku. She is a Fugu clone and has the V3 body. Although according to the Superfock site Doku is actually version 3.2 but not sure what that means exactly!

Her highly styled couture may not be to everyone’s taste but it’s safe to bet she won’t be around for long!

Here is the blurb from the sales site:

Fugu clone: 0702, pale skintone!
FIRST OF THE CURRENT COLLECTION “COLOURVISION”
Vicious tones, blue lips… this girl speaks no english!
Bright light blue hose, and tulle blouse, black and natural white origami jacket embroidered in metal pyramids, custom print grosgrain skirt, belted in double layer grosgrain ribbon with metal arrow ‘buckle’. metal accent pale blue shoes with transparent heel and overlay, matching light blue clutch bag and wig of electric blue pink and powder blue in a simple ponytail with fringe and sideburns!

A new fashion doll mag on the block

With the demise of Haute Doll some time ago it is with great delight that I got to have a look at the latest fashion doll magazine in town. From what I have seen things look very promising!

From the Sybarite cover star to the high fashion style shots we had come to know and love from HD this definitely helps fill the hole it left. I do therefore hope this magazine will be here to stay. Be sure to check it out and subscribe by print, digital and soon to be released ipad/iphone versions.

Say hello (and goodbye) to Mantilla!

The second Superdoll Gatekeeper to arrive in anticipation of the all-new Sybarite body was released over at the superfrock site today. Her name was Mantilla and she sold out in record time. Not only did she disappear but she took her sister Maverick with her and Voltaire, the basic doll I had my eye on.

It’s not difficult to work out why she was so popular as she was gorgeous! Fabulous smokey face-up and spanish senorita styling.  Oh well you win some you lose some!
